Will I get 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7 on my Mac?
All of our new Macs are shipped with 64-bit Windows.
How long will it take for my order to be delivered?
We are a small company (not a big faceless corporation!) and as such, all of our systems are built to order, to your exact specification. This means that it may take up to 5 working days for your order to be despatched, and then a further 2 working days for the courier to deliver your item. We will keep you updated with the progress of your order as it passes through the various stages of production and you can also track your order online anytime.
Are you part of Apple? Or Microsoft?
Neither – we are just a reseller (a division of a company called ‘Net Direct UK Ltd’). We resell Apple hardware and Microsoft software. The unique thing we do is to combine the two – we sell Apple hardware with Microsoft software pre-installed on it. We are the only company in the UK providing this service at the moment.
Why doesn’t my hard drive show the full amount of space available?
The hard drive on your new Mac have been split into two sections (called ‘partitions’). One for Windows and one for OSX, the Mac operating system which is also installed on your machine. We have reserved some space on your drive for this second partition so that you can still use OSX if you want to. (We usually reserve about 25% of the drive for OSX).
Oooohh… So OSX is available too? How do I get into it?
If you would like to boot into OSX, or ‘Mac Mode’ as we call it, hold the ‘alt’ key down when you switch your machine on – keep this held down until you see two icons on the screen with a grey background. Click the one that says ‘Macintosh HD’ and an arrow will appear underneath it. Click this arrow and OSX will load. The next time you restart, it will go back into the normal Windows mode by default.
My Mac came with an Anti-Virus package installed – how do I get rid of this?
We ship our new Macs with the free Anti-Virus program from Microsoft (it’s called ‘Security Essentials’). We do this because we don’t think it’s safe to sell computers without Anti-Virus software on them and we want you to be able to use your machine straight out of the box. This software won’t ever pop up and ask you for money for a subscription or expire after a few days, which we think is great. If, however, you prefer to load your own Anti-Virus software, please feel free. Just make sure you uninstall Security Essentials first. You can do this by going to Start> Control Panel> Uninstall a Program – then locate ‘Microsoft Security Essentials’ in the list. Highlight this and click on ‘uninstall’. Once completed, be sure to restart your Mac before loading the new Anti-Virus software on.
I want a 15 inch MacBook Pro with Windows 7 – but you only have the 13-inch models?
We only stock the 13-inch model because we believe it offers the best combination of value, power, portability and good looks. It is also by far the most popular option that Apple sells.

I bought a Mac Mini but I can’t get it to connect to my monitor. What’s going on?
Mac Mini’s have a miniDVI port and a mini DisplayPort socket on their back panels. Your monitor will need to have either a DVI or a DisplayPort connection (most new-ish monitors have DVI, but DisplyPort is very rare). You can connect to a monitor with DVI using the included Mini-DVI to DVI Adapter. If you only have the old style VGA connection on your monitor (usually blue with 15 pins/holes), you will need a Mini-DisplayPort to VGA Adapter. If you don’t know what any of this means, don’t worry – just ask our sales team.
